Core Insight presents the "Quest"; We name Peace and Love as the true Nature of Being and aspire to
become more than seeker, to be host of active and courageous emancipation of love manifest.
As members of One Family, we compel one another with shared vision, grace, and the bold signature of our Souls
in devoted service. We name Peace and Love as the True nature of Being and aspire to Become more than
seeker-indeed, to be host and participant in the courageous emancipation of Love Manifest in our World and in
our Being. In so being, we open the portal to its Nature, which is Peace and reveal the Kingdom on Earth.
We acknowledge our common search for truth and direct
experience of the Sacred Eternal; Creator and Created; that which
is unfathomable and that which resides at the Core of each of our
hearts.
We search for That which will bring us to the Source of Love,
immerse us in, within and from Love and inspire each to signify
Love as the wheel which prompts all motion, creation and being.
We are summoned to realize, externalize and become through
our Living, the manifestation of the Nature of this Sacred Eternal
Being, as One through One in becoming One.
Petition for Peace
The longing for peace is the most ancient of callings. It speaks of
a mission which lies deeply embedded within the heart and soul
each. We appear to long for something that we felt we have lost
rather than something that we have never known before.
Our prayer for peace is more than a petition for transformation
and the formation of a culture, it appears to be the call for a
state of being which we claim as our own and seemingly recall as
our rightful state of being. It appears as both heritage and
legacy; both inborn and gained through quest. Perhaps peace is
part of our Original State.
Its image recalls each to an inner space, which is not unfamiliar.
We seek it in our lives and are driven to create adaptations that
aim to claim it for ourselves in all forms and conditions. It is a
goal of spiritual practices and paths to enlightenment. Perhaps it
is a part of our Eternal Being, our Original Self. Equally, it may
be the Design of the Eternal for our Beautiful Earth as well.
In our world, it presents itself as a sounding that emerges across
borders, nationalities, cultures and policies. We all long for peace
and desire to live in an environment that is stable and
nourishing towards self and a healthy future. We can observe
that calls have been made; petitions and benevolent
organizations have given the deepest of heart on behalf of Peace
around the world. They attempt to mend the sorrowful parts of
our world, which cry out from loss, and the pain of crises. Even
so, at times we may indeed feel that all of the petitions and
prayer and are not enough to motion peace in the world that we
live in, or even in our immediate environment. As conditions of
crises accelerate, it could feel like a very distant dream.
Though the call for Peace is a powerful battle cry from podiums
of every sort, I wonder if we are truly hearing ourselves or if the
words have become too familiar. Have we heard too many
statistics and too many speeches? Is it possible to see so many
media images of suffering in places far away that one develops a
form of lessened reaction and compassion to crises which is not
in one's own community.
It does appear that it is possible to develop immunity to the
awareness of the consequences of conflict and crises in our
world. The news is full of what is important to "us" right now.
Further, we begin to think of the world in pieces such at "theirs",
"mine", "those", and "ours". Is it easier to withstand the discord
and suffering in the world if we detach from it and make it "not
our own" nor ours to fix, feel or embrace.
Many sincerely want to be part of a peace building process
rather than bearing witness to continuation suffering. Countless
individuals bravely step forward in service in times of war.
There are heroes amongst us that are leading our world forward.
They are the nature of Peace itself and embody the acts of
Peace. Actions of Peace are those that signify courage and
compassion.
Prayer for peace is the bold hope and appeal for intervention in
the present course of events by a power higher than the minds
of men, more benevolent than the forces of discord and infinitely
more embracing of the human spirit with the power to see the
potential for our finest most courageous actions take precedent
over those which are the lesser.
I view Peace as the Natural or Original state of Being. Our
prayers and inner longing is a desire to return to a state of
origins. When we stray from our original state whether it is in
our own lives or in our world, we create the pressure of
separation from Source. Perhaps our story is in the journey of
our return to this original state, yet nonetheless we each hold it
as valued above all else, even freedom. Freedom without Peace
would not be complete.
We see then that our lives must reflect peace, itself. In our quest
we are led to a mirror that reflect our own image. We peer into it
and are shown the parts of us that are "in becoming" towards
peace or have "separated from the original source" of peace. We
are shown that to manifest peace in our world we must live
parallel to our prayer. We are asked to become the nature of
that which we have prayed for. We must become Peace ourselves
by embodying its Nature as aspects of our being and expressing
it in our lives.
If peace is part of the true design for our world it lies within the
original Nature and follows natural law. We must be able to
synchronize with these natural laws to fall into the harmony of
Peace. The Nature of Peace would have aspects that qualify it.
These aspects could be named, understood and embodied by us
as well that once again we lived in accord with "Peace Nature".
It becomes more apparent that to pray for Peace opens us each
to the possibility of a process of becoming part of Peace itself.
Peace Nature becomes the essence of a culture of Courage,
Compassion, Empathy, Embrace of the Whole as a Unity,
Response-Ability (the caring and active ability to extend a
response to the needs of one another without thought of self
gratification) and individual Value and Values.
I then, petition Peace as the essence of our Original Nature and
as the Divine Nature of our Earth as well. I name it as Courage,
Compassion and Unity, which lives and breathes as an
expression as its own Nature. This we can behold as our own
Nature as well- destined to be revealed and expressed in our
world as Peace. My prayer for peace is to remember our purpose,
our original Nature and to honor the sacred origin of the world
that we live in.

"Thinking like a Tree"
by Linda Willows
Though moments of choice and decision-making remain the
most potent times for creative and pro-active living most of us
do not realize that we lose most of our opportunities. Plainly,
we think ourselves into such tangles that what ensues is far
from self-empowered choice and closer to familiar habit, need
or repetitive pattern. What happens when we "think things
through?"
When I "think" that I have to make a decision I am in actuality
caught in the spoke of a wheel of my mind which is in an
automatic mode, assuming control of belief of control over
events and ability to manipulate circumstances by mental
configurations and manipulations of thought, will and
preference.
It is possible that "thinking through" a decision is an inferior
method due to all of these habitual interferences. Perhaps I
need to bypass thought and escape the wheel, which constantly
tosses me mercilessly as I attempt to control life around me.
What is this alternative? Can the Heart speak clearly to me?
How? Is the Deep part of the Heart a true messenger of the
Soul, able to transmit wisdom rather than thought?
If then the mind is a perpetual wheel attempting to direct me
forward, the True Heart might be compared to a tree, rooted
in the earth, taking nourishment and substance and grounded
in this very beautiful Earth.
From this origin, it is able to grow and extend from the very
place that it is planted (its present, its source and its original
root), and take nourishment from the Sun, (solar; Soul-ar
power, air; higher thought and waters from the higher
environment; higher emotions-compassion, empathy, love).
Does this metaphorical "tree" think? I believe that it must
sense with an expansion that reaches beyond the scope of its
wide and generous branches. Does it make decisions or does it
find the natural flow and bask in it.
All the leaves turn towards the sun. The roots absorb water
and nutrients. The tree will bend to find a place that offers the
most direct connection to light. It will often entwine and enjoy
growing next to another tree yet neither will block the other's
light.
If I were to think like a tree at my next moments or decision or
expanded inner consultation I might have a few clues that
would offer a gentler route with less spokes to get caught in.
The wisdom of outcome is for you to decide.
Thinking like a tree at the point of decision-making, would
perhaps include three essential parts. First, of course there is
no thought, there is “sensing” which bypasses mind and uses
an awareness of presence and being to observe the current
conditions.
That means that one would not mentally list pros and cons nor
repetitively engage in circular thinking about how to solve the
problem or imagine one side of the decision, then the other
and perhaps multiple other scenarios. Instead this would be
replaced with simply standing with and alongside the “issue”
and sensing how it feels in the present. What conditions have
arisen as a result of it?
The tree would note that the soil is cool, its leaves are falling;
something is not working to allow it to fulfill the cycle of it
gaining full nutrients and thriving. It’s branches feel the
presence of other trees yet there is entanglement. The
resulting conditions are failure to thrive, possible loss of able
branches in certain areas.
So, the first step is Sensing the Present and noting the
resulting conditions.
The Second step in this process might be that the Tree is
instinctively drawn to the resources that it needs.
If it needs water, its roots grow towards a water source. If it
needs Light, it angles or finds its way above the branches of a
thicket to reach the Light of the sun. In short, it has a natural
inborn intelligence that understands how to guide it to its
needs. The tree does not work at this. It allows the inborn flow
to respond and the source that desires life and nourishment in
the tree is naturally drawn to that which will fulfills itself.
Could like be that simple. Could our decisions simply be put in
a flow that provides for our needs and guides us to the most
perfect outcome? The answer to that is-“Only if we can place
ourselves in this divine flow with absolute faith and a pure
heart.”
A tree has no motive that hinders divine flow. It does not
harbor resentments about other trees in the forest nor have a
wish that a certain kind of plant not grow near to it. It does not
ask for only one kind of weather, nor stop “being” when there
is an ice storm. It transforms into a magical icicle tree.
The single most important thing that enables divine flow is a
pure heart. As the second step is taken a personal inventory is
needed. Is my heart pure? Do I harbor resentment? Do I carry
negative or harmful feelings about others or myself? What
exactly is in my heart and how can I purify it so that it
becomes an open vessel?
The third step in thinking like a Tree is a return to
“singularity”. The tree, while in this example is being explored
as a way of comparing thinking to being, especially in the
process of decision-making.
Singularity, for the tree is it natural adaptation and innate
“wisdom” which directs it to the resources that will solve the
“problem or dilemma” and restore harmony. The tree has one
mission only. It will nourish its life force and connect to the
source of its Aliveness.
Similarly, we, in Singularity have one mission as well. After
returning to flow with a pure heart and reconnecting with all
necessary resources, we are fortified and able to motion
forward.
There is no decision caught in the spokes of a wheel. There is
no wheel. We are free, connected to Life and prepared for
singular active being.
Singular active being is a state of poised connectivity that
allows the engagement of wisdom, flow, faith and expanded
sense perception in the present moment.
It is named Singular because it is the sum of many parts yet is
not any of them. If it were a moment it would be the
exhalation after a wondrous gaze at life, within, around and
about you.
Next time you have a decision or are immersed in rounds of
thought, ask yourself, “How would a Tree think this through?”
Just a reminder, the Tree “Senses the Present”, “Allows Flow
with Pure Heart” and “Creates with Singularity”!
Challenge yourself. Think like a Tree and enjoy the view!
