We Become the Prayer for Peace
Prayer for peace is a keynote of our times. It presents itself as a sounding
that emerges across borders, nationalities, cultures and policies. Most
everyone longs for peace and to live in an environment that is stable and
nourishing towards self and a healthy future.
We can observe that the same call has been made, the same prayers, the
same petitions and the same monitoring organizations have given the
deepest of heart on behalf of Peace around the world to attempt to mend
the sorrowful parts of our world which cry out from the sorrow of loss and
the pain of crises.
How can be become part of a peace building process ourselves, rather
than bearing witness to suffering and worse- becoming immune to it? I
am not suggesting that we can all join a humanitarian organization
though empathic action in any form is Peace-building.
But there is more to the call for Peace than an action plan. Sometimes
these become simply that. A plan which generates actions which
temporarily suspend discord but do not touch the source or root cause of
the problem.
It is true that we may indeed feel that upon observation, all of the
petitions and prayer and are not enough to motion peace in the world
that we live in, or even in our immediate environment. It could feel like
a very distant dream or one with conditions that we will never be able to
attain.
Yet, Peace is the most ancient of callings both individual and in Society.
We seem to long for something that we felt that we have lost rather than
something that we have never known before. Peace must be part of our
Original State. It must be part of our Eternal Being and the Design of the
Eternal for our Beautiful Earth as well.
If it is such, Let us each reach for it, call it forward and name it as our
own. Surely, it has been since the beginning of Creation and it is we that
alter its Poise in Creation.
We allow Peace to begin with each of us. Further, we must each
Become Peace. In becoming we manifest its Nature. As we
manifest its Nature, we motion the actions of peace into being, in
so doing, Peace Become manifest in our world in us, as us and
through us.
How can an individual become Peace? Individual peace could be
likened to each person finding their harmonic note of inner balance and
"sounding" it through their being, actions, words and intent. As more
find the harmonic self within they sound Peace through their Being as
well.
The motion of this growing Spirit of Peace in Becoming through
individuals is wondrous. Imagine that instead of hearing voices singing
the famous song about Peace, one could hear Peace Itself Singing. It
Sounds as a harmonic symphony of voices that have Become Peace.
The Spirit that it beckons is a gathering of Hearts that aspire to put aside
all that hinders peace; to speak only words that heal; to return to the
indwelling light which guides us each to eternal peace and to allow
grace to fill the threshold of each moment with Love.
Becoming Peace is the advent of Love manifest within us. It
infuses within our lives, actions and intent. We can begin to
become Peace, each of us. We become the prayer itself. We are
the keynotes of peace, each sounding our own note creating a song
that must be sung.
